Create your first event
Creating an event takes five short steps and is free. You can change everything later, and the date can wait if it is not fixed yet.

Create your account
Sign up on web.vowly.co or in the iPhone or Android app. You can use Continue with Apple, Continue with Google, or an email address and password.
If you sign up with an email address, we send you a six-digit code. Enter it within 24 hours to activate your account; a new account cannot create an event until its email address is confirmed.
The five steps
- Type of event. Choose wedding, engagement, birthday, baby shower, graduation, corporate event, party, dinner, housewarming or other. The type sets the wording your guests see.
- Hosts. Enter who is hosting. A wedding asks About the couple, a corporate event asks for Company details.
- Date and details. Choose the date and time. If the date is not fixed yet, turn on Date not set yet and add it later. You can also write Event description (optional), the text your guests will read.
- Place. Search for the venue. You can leave it empty for now.
- Design. Pick one of the themes for your type of event, then press Create event.
Change anything later
Everything you entered can be changed in Event settings, including the type of event (Event type, then Change type).
- Choose your event, then Event settings in the menu on the left.
- Open your event and tap the pencil button on the cover photo (Edit event).
What to do next
- Write or adjust your invitation text.
- Add your guests, by hand or from an Excel file.
- Publish your invitation when you are ready to share it.
Frequently asked questions
Is creating an event free?
Yes. Creating events, building your guest list and every planning tool are free, with no limit on events or guests. Publishing the invitation for your guests needs the 14-day trial or Premium.
Can I create an event before I know the date?
Yes. Turn on Date not set yet while creating the event and add the date later in Event settings. You need a date before you can publish the invitation.
