What we keep about you

  • Your account: your name, email address and how you sign in.
  • Your plan: its status and dates, and what was charged. Card details go only to Stripe, Apple or Google, never to us.
  • Everything you create: your events, guest lists, replies, photos and planning.
  • Your notifications, Vow Points and conversations with our support team.

We keep it while your account exists. All the details are in our privacy policy; in the app, Privacy and security in your profile opens it.

Get a copy of your data

  1. Open Profile, then Personal information.
  2. Next to Email me a copy of my data, press Send, then confirm.

We email one file to your account's email address, with your account details, subscription, points, notifications, survey answers and support conversations. It is free, and you can ask for three copies a day.

Your events' contents are not in it. With a paid subscription, email yourself each event from Back up & restore (see export your guest list); our support team can also send you a copy.

Where your data is stored

Your events, guest lists and photos are stored in Google Cloud's EU region. Sign-in runs on Google's service from data centres in the United States, and our email provider is based in the United States; both are covered by legal safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Vowly Event is run by CKR Technology Group Ltd in the United Kingdom. Our providers are listed on the sub-processors page.

Usage statistics and cookies

We use Google Analytics, with shortened IP addresses, to see how Vowly Event is used. It is on by default, and you can switch it off:

  • In the apps and on web.vowly.co: turn off Usage analytics in your profile.
  • On vowly.co and on invitation pages: open Cookie Preferences at the bottom of the page and switch off Analytics. Reject in the cookie banner does not switch it off.

Correct or delete your data

Change your name or email address in Personal information (see change your email or name). To remove everything, delete your account. For any other privacy request, write to support@vowly.co.

Frequently asked questions

Does the copy of my data include my guest list?

No. It holds your own account data. Your events, with their guest lists, are exported from Back up & restore with a paid subscription, or our support team can send you a copy.

Is my data stored in the EU?

Your events, guest lists and photos are. Sign-in runs on Google's service from the United States, and emails are sent by a provider in the United States, under legal safeguards.

Do my guests' visits to the invitation count in your statistics?

Yes, unless they switch it off in Cookie Preferences. Google only receives the kind of page, never the invitation's address or the names on it.
