Delete your account
You can delete your account yourself, on the web or in the app. Your events, guest lists and photos are deleted and cannot be brought back. A subscription bought in the App Store or Google Play must be cancelled separately.

Before you delete
- A subscription from the App Store or Google Play is not cancelled when you delete your account, and the store keeps charging. Cancel it in the store first. The app reminds you and offers a button that opens the store's subscription page.
- A subscription bought on the website ends with your account, straight away. If you bought it within the last 14 days and want to withdraw for a refund, do that before you delete.
- Your events: with a paid subscription, email yourself a backup of each event from Back up & restore. Without one, our support team can send you a copy.
- Your team: an event cannot be handed over to another account. If your partner or planner should keep planning, do not delete your account.
- Your guests are not told. If your event is still ahead and your invitation is published, you can first delete the event in Event settings and tick Tell guests the event is cancelled.
Delete your account
- Open Profile, then Personal information.
- At the bottom, under Danger zone, press Delete account.
- Read the list, tick the box to confirm that you understand, and press Delete my account permanently.
- Open Profile, then Personal information.
- Scroll down to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
- Read the list, tick the box to confirm that you understand, and tap Delete my account permanently.
If you sign in with a password, you enter it to confirm. If you sign in with Google or Apple, their own window asks you to confirm. You can also tell us why you are leaving; this is optional, and your answer is kept without your name or email address.
What is deleted
- Your events and their invitation pages. Their links and printed QR codes stop working.
- Guest lists, RSVPs and their replies.
- Every photo you and your guests uploaded.
- Planning data (budget, seating, menu, tasks).
- Your account and sign-in details, your notifications and your conversations with our support team.
Team members on your events lose access, and we let them know. If you helped plan someone else's event, that event stays with its owner; you simply leave its team.
If deletion takes a little longer, the app shows Deletion under way: your account is already closed and we finish removing the data. When everything has been deleted, we send you one last email.
What we keep
To stop deleted accounts being misused, we keep a short record with only your name and email address. If you sign up again with the same address, you start with a new, empty account and without a new free trial. Payment records are kept for as long as the law requires. Copies in our backups are removed automatically; our privacy policy gives the periods.
If you cannot sign in
Write to support@vowly.co from the email address of your account and we will process your request. You can also read our page on deleting your account.
Frequently asked questions
Can I undo it?
No. A deleted account and its events cannot be restored. If you emailed yourself a CSV backup of an event first, it can be restored as a new event on a new account with a paid subscription; it gets a new link and PIN, and its photos do not come back.
Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?
A subscription bought on the website, yes. One bought in the App Store or Google Play, no: cancel it in the store, or it keeps charging.
Do I have to delete my account to stop paying?
No. You can cancel your subscription and keep your account and events for free.
