The time or date looks wrong
Your invitation shows the date and time in your event's time zone. A wrong time is almost always a time zone set to another place, or a calendar that shows a guest abroad their own local time.

How the time is shown
- Your event has its own Time zone. A new event starts with the time zone of the device you create it on, and you can change it while creating the event or later.
- Your invitation, the emails to your guests and the app show the date and time in that time zone.
- When a guest's phone or computer is in another time zone, the invitation names the time zone after the time. Emails to guests name it too.
Check or change the time zone
- Choose your event and open Event settings.
- Under Time zone, choose the time zone of the venue, check the time and press Save changes.
- Open your event and tap the pencil button on the cover photo (Edit event).
- Under Time zone, choose the time zone of the venue, check the time and tap Save changes.
Changing the time zone keeps the clock time you entered: 15:00 stays 15:00, now in the new time zone. If your venue seems to be in another time zone, the app suggests the venue's time under the place.
Calendars and guests abroad
The invitation email, and the reply confirmation of guests who are coming, include a calendar file. Calendar apps show the event in the time zone of the guest's own device, so a guest in another country sees their local time. It is the same moment, so this is correct.
When you change the date, time or time zone, the update email carries a new calendar file. If a guest's calendar still shows the old time, they can delete the old entry and add the new one.
A wrong date
- A date in the past cannot be chosen.
- After the event, the date can no longer be changed. If it was entered wrongly, contact support and we will correct it.
- If the phone app shows 1 July 2100, that event has no date yet and your app is an older version. Update the app, and add the date in Event settings when you know it. See events without a date.
Frequently asked questions
My guest lives in another country. Which time do they see?
The invitation shows your event's time and names its time zone. Their calendar shows the same moment in their own local time.
I changed the time zone and now the time is wrong. Why?
Changing the time zone keeps the clock time you entered, in the new time zone. Check the time in Event settings and save again.
Are guests told when I change the time?
Yes, once your invitation is published: guests you have contacted get a short update email, unless they said they cannot come.
