Event types and what they change
Every event has a type, such as a wedding, a birthday or a corporate event. The type decides the designs, the details you are asked for, the tone of the guest page and a few settings. You can change it later.

The ten types
You choose the type in the first step of creating an event: Wedding, Engagement, Birthday, Baby shower, Graduation, Corporate event, Party, Dinner & gathering, Housewarming or Other.
Not sure? Pick the closest one. Other suits anything that is not in the list, such as a book launch.
What the type changes
- Designs: each type has its own four themes. To use the themes of another type, change the type.
- Details: the second step asks what fits the type, for example the couple for a wedding (About the couple), the age for a birthday (Age they’re turning) or the company for a corporate event (Company name). A corporate invitation can also show a Company logo.
- Title and link: weddings and engagements use the hosts' names as the invitation's title and for its short link address. Other types use the event title.
- Tone: in languages with a formal and a friendly "you", the types Corporate event and Other address guests formally, every other type in a friendly way.
- Opening: for every type except Corporate event and Other, the invitation first opens from an envelope.
- Checklist: Add a ready-made checklist suggests tasks written for your type of event.
Settings that depend on the type
- Only invited guests can respond is offered only for the types Corporate event and Other. Read more about invited guests only.
- Guests per response starts at 1 for a corporate event, so each guest replies for themselves, and at 5 for every other type. You can change it in RSVP settings.
- A corporate event's guest list also shows each guest's company.
Change the type later
- Choose your event, then Event settings in the menu on the left.
- Next to Event type, press Change, pick the new type and press Change type.
- Open your event and tap the pencil button on the cover photo (Edit event).
- Tap Event type, pick the new type and tap Change type.
- The invitation takes the first theme of the new type, unless your current theme already belongs to it.
- Your details, guests, replies and plan stay as they are. Details the new type does not use are kept and come back if you change back.
- Switching to a corporate event sets Guests per response to 1 if you had not chosen a number. Switching away puts it back to the usual number if it was still 1.
- Nothing is sent to your guests.
